Huge Batman 3 Villain Rumour!

Just caught this article over at slashfilm.com, speculating the identity of the latest villain for Batman 3.

Speculation has regarding the villain for Batman 3 for months, with the Riddler being touted as the favourite to appear, but with the Batman 3 script reportedly completed now a series of interesting tidbits of information have cast light on an entirely different character – Killer Croc!

Firstly, rumours surfaced in August speculating the filming location for the new Batman movie would be in New Orleans and was seemingly confirmed on 6th October by superherohype.com. However, the location of New Orleans might have nothing to do with the villain, more cost cutting as Lousianna apparently has certain tax breaks for film production.

Secondly, comic book writer Mark Miller tweeted the fact that he knew who the villain was going to be for Batman 3 on his twitter page which although proves even less than the previous statement it is quite interesting.

The rumour mongers are trying to suggest that Killer Croc was created and on the scene from 1983, during Miller’s teen years, and combined with the New Orleans filming location there may be some substance to the rumours, though there is still no real evidence of anything.

Combined with the tax breaks for filming production in Lousianne, another thing that might suggest this rumour has no ground is the Batman: Gotham Knight short animated movies which featured the Killer Croc character and was meant to bridge the gap between Batman Begins and Dark Knight. Whether this holds any relevance or not is yet to be determined and the speculation continues!
