Amazingly (you see what I did there?), the upcoming Spider-Man franchise reboot has already managed to get a sequel green-lit. That’s spectacular news…right?
The Amazing Spider-Man doesn’t hit the cinema’s for more than a year (3rd July 2012 in the US, 4th July 2012 in the UK) yet various sources have confirmed that the studio have already commissioned James Vanderbilt to work on the screenplay for the sequel.
The studio seem to have invested heavily in this new take on the popular Marvel web-slinger, putting together a solid, star-studded cast and it seems from the strength of what they’ve seen thusfar, they’re pretty confident that they’ve got something good on their hands…or at least something highly marketable.
Interesting news at any rate, it’s just a damned shame we’ve got to wait another 16 months to see it!

Interesting.
I know it’s a habit for studio’s to pre-plan their summer blockbuster’s, but still this looks promising.
I hope they’ve got something good here.
I’m sure everyone agreed It’s a little soon after the previous trilogy to be already doing this reboot, but I’m not going to let that put me off.
The cast list for this reboot looks awesome.
Yes, the cast does look pretty strong.
I think Dennis Leary will make a real good George Stacey.
Still not so sure about Rhys Ifans though. Is he up to something of this magnitude?
I think Ifan’s will do it justice TBH.
I’m just glad they’ve stuck vaguely to the comic book and had Gwen Stacey as the love interest intead of Mary-Jane Watson.
Man, 16 monthsi is a helluva long time to wait for this too!
