First Look: Rise of the Planet of the Apes Trailer

The new Planet of the Apes movie, “The Rise of the Apes”, is set to be released on 5th August (in the US), boasting the star power of James Franco, Andy Serkis, Brian Cox and John Lithgow – with even a role for one of my favourite sci-fi actors David Hewlett (Cube / Stargate: SG1 / Stargate: Atlantis).

And guess what? We have the trailer right here!

The film is a prequel set in San Franscico and charts how genetic testing creating the intellgent apes and then documenting the onset of war for supremacy.

What say you? When first hearing about this project, I was overly thrilled. Especially since the Wahlberg nightmare Planet of the Apes in 2001. But the talented cast of this new movie which I’m very intrigured by. Also, I’m liking the sound of the synopsis and I think it’ll be an interesting portion of the story to focus upon.

Some of the shots in the trailer are so emotive it’s difficult NOT to be engaged by them.

This looks like it’s going to be a good one.

@Zoom. You’re right. The shot of the Gorilla in the room with the sleeping couple sent chills down my spine.

Blasphemy! Cesar was not a science experiment. He was the child of Cornelius and Zira. Why fuck with the canon?
