Ricky Gervais Reveals Details of Rumoured Karl Pilkington/Warwick Davis Project

7 of the Funniest Quotes from An Idiot Abroad

I know what you’re thinking.

This blog has been a little Ricky Gervais/An Idiot Abroad/Life’s Too Short focused recently. I hear you. Really, I do. But I ask you, how could it not be?

An Idiot Abroad: The Bucket List will air in the UK in a little over a week’s time and I can’t wait. It’s the most excited I’ve been for a TV Show to air in a long time and it’s definitely the TV show I’m most looking forward to in this fall’s programming (with Boardwalk Empire and The Big Bang Theory not all that far behind).

Now Gervais has released a little more information about his next project, which we announced at the start of this month, which at the time Gervais speculated would star both Karl and Warwick but did not go as far as to announce what the basis of such a show would be.

Now he has.

On his blog, Gervais announced the proposed Karl Pilkington/Warwick Davis team up show would be “Karl cycling round Britain with Warwick in the basket like ET.” And then went onto speculate the title of such a project would be “The Short Way Round”.

In an interview with Digital Spy to promote An Idiot Abroad 2, the subject is broached and Gervais is very forthcoming with the facts, however, Karl doesn’t seem all that pleased about it.

Check out the video below and see for yourselves:

However, it seems Karl has warmed up a little to the idea. After announcing the proposed title for the show, he also announced that “Warwick, Karl and I are having a meeting about it next week”.

Hopefully something will come of the idea, because I honestly believe that idea is pure gold – what do you think? Should Karl stay off our TV screens for a while? Is the concept for the show something you’d even be interested in watching? Please let us know in the comments below!
