Another week, another array of fantastical DVD releases both in the US and the UK for your perusal and we have the best of the best right here for you! Check it out!

US Releases

Featured Release: Transformers 3: The Dark of the Moon

In the US this week, arguably the main DVD scheduled to be released this week is of course the fantastical third installment of the Transformers movie, which when I saw in the movie theatre’s really blew me away. I think most would argue the second installment wasn’t the best and I must admit I was fairly ‘meh’ about the whole thing…until Transformers: Dark of the Moon showed up. It was a really good story which finally gave the humans some credibility when fighting and continued to give the Sam Witwicky character a credible path to follow.

The DVD is set to be released on Friday 30th September and you can get it now for just $19.99 on Blu-Ray or $16.99 on DVD.

UK Releases

Featured Release: Thor

Thor was one of the better movies to come out of Marvel Studios in the last few years and quite easily makes the top 5 list of good movies I’ve seen this year. The movie interwove the traditional Thor story we all know and love and developed the concept of Asgard and their culture’s use of both technology and magic in equal measures.

The Thor Blu-Ray version is available for £14.97 and includes a good number of special features:

  • Commentary by director Kenneth Branagh
  • Marvel One-Shot: The Consultant
  • Featurettes
  • Road to the Avengers
  • Deleted Scenes with optional commentary
  • Teaser Trailer
  • Theatrical Trailer
  • Avengers Animated Trailer

Thor is available on regular DVD for £9.97 and will contain a fraction of the special features:

  • Commentary by director Kenneth Branagh
  • Deleted Scenes (with optional commentary)
  • Road to the Avengers
