AMC Renew Walking Dead for Third Season

Walking Dead just $9.99

After the turbulence The Walking Dead suffered between the first and second seasons, the departure of showrunner Frank Darabont and the heavily reduced budget (diverted to Mad Men if can believe it), it was hard to call whether AMC would back the epic Zombie drama series for a third season, but today, thankfully, AMC have belayed the fears of geeks all around the world and made it official.

The Walking Dead will return for a third season and all I have to say about that is…FUCK YEAH!

Despite all the previously mentioned troubles with the show, the second season of The Walking Dead opened in a rather spectacular fashion, attracting 7.3 million total viewers and easily shattering previous basic cable premiere records in its wake.

As most comic book Walking Dead fans like me will already know, this will lead to exciting prospects as to what the crew will encounter next in terms of storyline and plot progression and I for one will be interested as to how it will compare to the established comic book story line.

All in all, I am very pleased with this announcement and hope the show will continue forever more. What do you guys think? Want the crew to come back for a third season or has this whole Zombie thing been done to death already? Please let me know in the comments section below!

This is great news to me. First episode of season two wasn’t great but episode two made a lot more sense. Hopefully the new writers are going to do a good job from here on out.

New series has already made me feel that they did a decent job firing the writing staff.
Hopefully it’ll be sticking closer to the comic’s story line and give the characters more of a chance to develop than just being “LOL ZOMBIES” every 2 minutes.

The first episode of the second season was fantastic, much more in tune with the atmosphere of the comics than some of the first season episodes. I’m very much glad that they’re trying to wrap up the ever-awkward growing love triangle also. The writers really dragged that along in the first season like, for lack of a better term, dead weight.

I didn’t think the lowered budget showed through at all either. If they keep of the creativity of working with more restraints, this show has nowhere to go but up.
