On this day 24 smegging years ago (god I feel old) Red Dwarf first hit British TV screens to reveloutionise the comedy scene. To celebrate their birthday and to promote the much anticipated 10th series, they’ve launched an official Red Dwarf Channel on YouTube! Awesomeo!
Sci-Fi comedy shows are almost unheard of even today and whilst there have been a few attempts, nothing can compare to the boys from the crimson small one.
I loved the show from the very beginning. I used to watch the show with my dad and we both laughed our asses off at virtually every moment. I know the Red Dwarf – Back To Earth special wasn’t spectacular and many fans let their feelings on the subject be known, but I still enjoyed it and I’m very much looking forwrad to the new series which is set to air in the UK on DAVE later this year.
Anyway, enough babbling – here’s a welcome message from the cast to open the channel:
And whilst you’re at it, why not check out the sneak peaks from the upcoming series playlist while you’re at it!
What about you guys? Looking forward to the new series from the Red Dwarf crew or will you be avoiding it? Also, am I right about the lack of quality sci-fi comedy shows out there? If so, please do not hesitate to call me out on it in the comments section below!

I too can’t wait for the return of Red Dwarf. Classic British comedy which seems to be done better than the US with a few exceptions (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Arrested Development, Community…). It was good to see the boys back together in the welcome vid. Can’t wait.
Hyperdrive was also quite humourous!
No Doctor Who?
