The Sin City 2 bus just keeps on a rollin’! A couple of days ago we shared the progress of the sequel for the fantastical comic book adaptation of Frank Miller’s Sin City reporting that casting was set to take place sometime next week and that production will being this summer. Now, Rodriguez has confirmed two primary cast members will be returning for the second movie and hints at a third who has been rumoured since thoughts of Sin City 2 first formulated!
In an interview with MTV Rodriguez clarified his plans a little stating “We still have to cast. I’m shooting Machete next month, and we go right into Sin City. It might overlap, but we haven’t done any casting yet, except for the people who we know are already in it and returning.”
Okay, although I would love see Rodriguez jump on Sin City 2 first, I loved the first Machete movie! It was all kinds of genius and I am actually eager to see the sequel.
As for the people are already returning? Rodriquez elaborates:
“A Dame to Kill For, all those people come back. I just had lunch with Mickey (Rourke) this weekend. He’s all excited to come back, but he’s probably the first one. I saw Rosario (Dawson) too. I ran into her for something else, and she’s pumped. They’ve always been excited about doing another one, so that will be fun.”
As for the long standing rumours that Angeline Jolie will be in the sequel protraying the Ava character Rodriquez adds, “I haven’t even gotten to meet with her yet about it or discuss with Frank about who we would want to go with or talk to first. That’s a fun process, but that probably won’t happen in the next month.”
I actually hope they have a long hard think about who they want to cast because I’m fine with Jolie not being in it, but judging for the absolutely phenomenal casting from the first I have trust they’ll pull this off without a hitch. I seriously can’t wait.
If you’re too eager to wait for the film to be released, you can check out the plot to Frank Miller’s “A Dame to Kill For” comic book over at Wikipedia otherwise, why not get your hands on the A Dame to Kill for comic book – I can assure you it’s are worth the read! As is the rest of the series!
