Breaking Bad is one of my favourite shows of all time and whilst I’m sad that season 5 will be the last season, I’m more than a little eager to see it hit our screens again! Well good news! They’ve now confirmed an official air date for the first episode of season 5! Can you say awesomeo?

It was back in March when we broke the news, via Bryan Cranston’s twitter account, that the fifth and final season of the show had a vague air date of “July” and now we can confirm that to be accurate, with news from AMC that the show will officially be back on our screens on 15th July at 10/9c.
So…just a little under 2 months to go then! Awesomeo!
It has also been confirmed that the show will have 16 episodes in the final season, rather than 13 but theres a drawback – only 8 episodes will air this year, the rest will air at some point in Summer 2013 which will be one hell of a long wait! I can’t understand the logic in that, but there you go. Maybe it’s becasue Bryan Cranston’s in pretty much everything right now? Maybe it’s because they want to build the fans up into a frenzy much like the final season of Sporano’s? Who knows.

Granted, it doesn’t give a whole lot away but the final season of the show in terms of story is being kept close to the chest and very little seems to be seeping out for the public attention. Breaking Bad is usually on FX Dean. However, because it’s not sky one or atlantic, I expect it won’t show in the UK until after the second half of the season in 2013 – but nothing has been confirmed yet!
