Tom Cruise’s Latest Sci-Fi Flick Oblivion Get’s Official Synopsis

Tom Cruise's Oblivion Get's Official Synopsis

Love him or hate him, Tom Cruise is dipping his toes back into the science fiction genre with his latest movie Oblivion and I have the newly released movie synopsis right here for ya…and it sounds kinda cool! Check it out!

Oblivion based Arvid Nelson and Joseph Kosinski's Oblivion comic book

Oblivion is based on a comic book of the same name (which is being heldd for release to coincide with the movie), penned by the movie director Joseph Kosinski (also director of Tron: Legacy) and Arvid Nelson (The Joker’s Asylum, Kull, Thulsa Doom) and adapted for the screen by William Monahan (The Departed, Body of Lies).

Here’s the official synopsis:

On a spectacular future Earth that has evolved beyond recognition, one man’s confrontation with the past will lead him on a journey of redemption and discovery as he battles to save mankind. Jack Harper (Cruise) is one of the last few drone repairmen stationed on Earth. Part of a massive operation to extract vital resources after decades of war with a terrifying threat known as the Scavs, Jack’s mission is nearly complete. Living and patrolling the breathtaking skies from thousands of feet above, his soaring existence is brought crashing down when he rescues a beautiful stranger from a downed spacecraft. Her arrival triggers a chain of events that forces him to question everything he knows and puts the fate of humanity in his hands.

What do you think? Sound like a decent sci-fi flick or just another one rolling with the motions? Will you be watching this movie? Let me know what you think in the comments section below – I’d love to hear your opinion!
