That’s right! The trailer for Tom Hanks’ web series Electric City has landed and it looks awesome! Check it out!
Electric City is supposed a utopia, a new civilization born from the darkness…but is it? The truth is the currency of the few and questions are violently discouraged. What is Electric City really? And what is going on in the darkness? As the web series progresses we’ll find out.
The series will be released on July 17th on Yahoo and will feature 20 episodes lasting between 3 and 5 minutes. It’ll be watchable on either your PC or Mobile phone and the plan is to combine the entire series for a future release (possibly a straight to DVD movie).
Tom Hanks will work as writer/producer/actor in the series and will feature the talents of Jeanne Tripplehorn, Holland Taylor, Ginnifer Goodwin, Paul Scheer, Chris Parnell and June Diane Raphael. A pretty cool.

Another poorly animated American production. Really? Can’t people take lessons from the Japanese on the art of animation? As for the story concept; with all of the great SciFi stories over the past 80+ years, the best you can come up with is the basic of “An electronic society with a deep, dark secret….”? Apparently even old Tom has become a close-minded, uninspiring, risk-less, Hollywood no-nads, producer who thinks the medium – rather than the story – is the message. Crud.
