Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man get’s shooting schedule and a rough release date

Edgar Wright's Ant-Man gets shooting schedule and rought release date!

It seems that Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man test footage at this year’s Comic-Con has turned a few heads – the movie now has a shooting schedule AND a rough release date…can you say awesomeo?

Before Comic-Con, I brought you news that the eargly awaited second Marvel movie to be released in 2014 would be a rather surprising choice of Guardians of the Galaxy, but I also brought you news about Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish’s Ant-Man movie and how they produced a test reel for the movie in order to pursuade Marvel producers to give the movie the green light.

Well it seems they did just that. Marvel scoop masters, Latino Review (please bear in mind they called Thanos over a year before The Avengers movie was released), have revealed that Ant-Man will shoot in London after Thor 2 and is very likely to be added to Marvel’s 2014 movie schedule.

This kind of makes sense because before Comic-Con there was a lot of debate which movie (Ant-Man or Guardians of the Galaxy) would join Captain America: The Winter Soldier in the 2014 schedule. Guardians of the Galaxy made sense because that will no doubt tie in the Thanos link and explore that side of things in the overall Marvel movie continuity, before The Avengers 2 is released. On the other hand, Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish have been working on the Ant-Man movie in some form since 2005 and are eager to see the movie made. Wright has a proven track record in Hollywood and his movie’s are more or less consistently successful and therefore must’ve grabbed the attention of Marvel exec’s in some for or another. Considering Ant-Man was an original member of the Avengers in the comic books too, that may also bring a fanboy appeal to the movie.

What do you think? Are you eager to see Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man join the 2014 Marvel Movie schedule? Let me know in the comments below – it’d be fantastical to hear your opinion.
