AMC to make Walking Dead series into a movie?

Thats right – there’s a fluttering of rumours circulating reading AMC seriously consider making a feature movie from The Walking Dead TV series.

It’s a good idea. It just is. The show is incredibly popular and draws high rating figures. There is no doubt in my mind a movie based on the show will be successful – both critically and financially.

Okay, there are those who might remind you they tried to sell the show as a movie first and when there were no takers, turned to TV, but I say now that the show has proved itself a hit on the TV, it makes a better platform for the The Walking Dead to excel on the big screen.

Can it be done?

We all know the TV show is based on a comic book of the same name. Okay, some details both minor and major in the show aren’t following the comic books exactly word for word, but the big events remain more or less the same.

My point? My point is, there are a lot of major storyline’s within the comic book the TV show has yet to explore and it’s highly achieveable for a movie to made out of the remaining plot points.

Will it be done?

According to Bloody Disgusting, who apparently have friends who work on the show, confirm there are rumblings of AMC considering the movie option at the very least. Possibly as a way to close the series down with a bang, perhaps? Just pure speculation at this point, obviously.
