That’s right, the IT Crowd’s Chris O’Dowd has officially signed up to Christopher Guest’s new comedy show, ‘Family Tree’!
Read on for more details!
‘Family Tree’ will be made for the BBC and HBO and will center on O’Dowd’s character Tom Chadwick, “an unemployed single man down on his luck, who begins exploring his family’s strange past after inheriting a trunkful of odd heirlooms from his deceased great aunt.”
Christopher Guest co-created the show with Jim Piddock, but will also take on a directoral role as well as a supporting role in front of the camera.
The collaboration sounds all kinds of awesome to me, but on the downside this does probably mean a new series of the UK’s The IT Crowd is probably out of the window right about now.
Richard Ayoade, O’Dowd’s co-star on the Graham Linehan comedy, is alreadfy hitting it big in the US and now this? It doesn’t spell good news, does it? And that makes me a sad panda.
What do you think? Looking forward to seeing this show? Excited by the O’Dowd and Guest teaming? Let me know in the comments below – it’d be awesome to hear your opinion!
