That’s right – the forthcoming series of the cult science fiction comedy show, Red Dwarf X, has been revealed! Check it out!
Red Dwarf series X has been in the pipeline for quite some time now and fans have been waiting eagerly since principal actor Robert Llewellyn (Kryten) let slip the news way back in January 2011.
It was confirmed the series was filmed in the winter of 2011 and early 2012, but a tight lid had been kept on the details. Indeed, it was only in July that news behind the show has begun to trickle out, with a teaser trailer being released to the masses.
Now the wait for final confirmation of the series UK air date is over. When will show air? October 4th on DAVE, that’s when.
US Air Date?
And what about a US air date? Nothing about a US air date has been mentioned yet, but the likihood is strong. After all, more and more UK shows are making their way over to the US in some form or another and it was only a season or two ago the show was mentioned in The Big Bang Theory. The right demographic, at least so there’s potential.
Will it be good?
A lot of fans are already erring on the side of ‘no’ given the last few series, including the ‘Back to Earth’ special. However, according to a tweet by series creator Doug Naylor, “Sitting in on the interviews the guys are doing with journalists who’ve all seen Show 1. Feedback has been fantastic!”
The pessimistic side of me is thinking ‘he’s bound to say that’, the uber Red Dwarf fanboy in me is thinking ‘I REALLY hope so’ and ‘I can’t wait to see it anyway’.
What say you? Will you be watching Red Dwarf X? Do you think it will be more watchable than ‘Back to Earth’? Did you actually like ‘Back to Earth’? Let me know what you think in the comments below – it’d be awesome to hear what you have to say.
