That’s right, Benjamin Linus from Lost has been cast as The Dark Knight’s most notorious villain in the forthcoming Batman Dark Knight Returns Warner Bros Animated movie! Can you picutre it?

Mark Hammill voiced his last Joker in the Batman: Arkham City. He gave up the coveted mantle after taking the role and making it his for years. In my eye’s, he’s one of the best Joker’s there has ever been.
Now, with the Dark Knight Returns movie in full production Warner Bros have cast a replacement (in a sense at least. In other animated Batman movies, such as the Red Hood for example, other actors have been cast as the Joker before Hammill actually retired from the role #pedantic).
And the choice is Michael Emerson.
“He’s one of those great villains that an actor like me likes to play because he has layers,” Emerson told Tv Guide. “He has a face for the world and a face for himself.”
“He is, in a way, a villain who is a natural actor,” Emerson continued. “All of that is that is delightful and confounding at the same time.”
Emerson’s version of the Joker won’t be seen until the second installment of the movie (it has been split into two movies due to length) and will join former Fringe and Human Target star Mark Valley, who is slated to voice Superman. Robocop star Peter Weller will voice the aging Batman in the movie.
The first installment of the movie, Dark Knight Returns: The Last Fight Begins is set to be released on 25th September (the same day as The Avengers) and you can see the trailer for the movie below:
What do you think? Is Michael Emerson a good choice? Do you like the look of this movie? Let me know in the comments section below – it’d be awesome to hear your opinion!
