The release date is almsot upon us – what could be better than that? Erm. What about a free Dredd 3D prequel online comic book lay the foundation for the movie?
Well, it’s you’re lucky day. Yes that’s right, such a comic book exists and I have it right here for you! Check it out!
The new Dredd movie is almost here and it looks entirely awesome. More importantly, it’s also getting decent reviews from my fellow geeks.
In the interview above, written on the fantastical Den of Geek website, Simon Brew’s last lines of his review sum up everything I want from the movie:
Dredd is the kind of comic-book movie that they weren’t supposed to be making anymore. Luckily for us, someone decided to ignore that.
Dredd 3D will be released in the UK on 7th September, with US fans having to wait a further two weeks until the 21st September before they are able to see it.
I must admit, I’m more than a little excited to see the movie. I think the trailers and indeed all promotion of the movie leading up to the release has been phenomenal and the free online comic book is just a little piece of that awesomeness.
The comic has been written by current 2000AD and Judge Dredd magazine editor Matt Smith, with artwork from prolific 2000AD regular Henry Flint and will chart the rise of movie antagonist and Peach Tree Block’s crime kingpin Ma-Ma (portrayed in the movie by the fantastical Lena Headey).
