First official image of The Wolverine

The Wolverine is set hit the cinema’s 26th July 2013 and as you can see from the first official image above, Hugh Jackman will return his role of the much loved Marvel character Wolverine. And it appears he’s returning as ripped as hell too.

The Wolverine is directed by James Mangold of 3:10 to Yuma fame, so I genuinely have high hopes for this Wolverine movie, after the disaster that was X-Men Origins: Wolverine (although I did LOVE the opening sequence of Wolverine and Sabretooth through time and various wars).

The movie is based on the “Wolverine” limited edition comic book released September to December 1982 and was written by Chris Claremont and pencilled by Frank Miller. The story follows Wolverine as he ventures to Japan in order to train with a Samuari Warrior where he engages a mysterious figure from his past.
