David Goyer returns to comic books to pen 13 issue DC Event with Geoff Johns

David Goyer to return to comic book writing

That’s right – the co-writer of Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy is set to return writing for DC Comics and is set to pen 13 issue event with DC mainstay Geoff Johns! Check it out!

New York Comic-Con

The announcement was made this weekend at the New York Comic-Con and was just one of a number of announcements that rocked the geek world (as I reported earlier today – another notable announcement is the news that Agent Coulson will return to the Marvel movie universe to headline in the S.H.I.E.L.D. TV show).

It was met with open arms by geeks every where following the wake of the awesome Dark Knight Trilogy he co-wrote with Christopher Nolan (which you can pre-order on Blu-Ray right now for just $29.96 btw) and the fact that Goyer wrote some pretty awesome comic books back in the day, including a run on DC’s JSA title in 1999.

“I have plans to do something with Geoff Johns that’s been on the drawing books for a while,” Goyer announced at the event. “Basically, [we're] just looking for the time to plot it out. DC is holding the space for it, it’s an event that we’re going to do, it’s a 13-issue thing. Hopefully, we’ll start plotting it out this fall.”

Pretty cool, right? What do you think? Is this a title you’d pick up? Are you eager to see what story Goyer and Johns are going toi write? Let me know in the comments section below!
