That’s right AMC has picked up its hit western show Hell on Wheels for a 3rd season! Awesomeo!
The show starring Anson Mount and Common as co-leads follows the trials and tribulations of building America’s landmark transcontinental railroad through the frontier of the country.
Season 2 ended on a particularly grim note with the rail worker settlement being overrun by Indians, with the camp taking many casualties and a couple of key cast members seemingly coming to the end of their journey one way or another.
As well as losing key cast members at the end of the second season, the show will venture into it’s third 10 episode season without show creators and executive producers Joe and Tony Gayton. Their contracts expired at the end of the second season and evidently AMC do not plan on renewing them in terms of the day to day running of the show, but it’s thought they may remain as consultants for the show.
What do you think? Are you excited for the third season of this awesome show? Was the second season up to scratch with the first? Let me know in the comments below – it’d be awesome to hear your opinion!
