As the production for Sin City: A Dame to Kill for ramps up, so does the news as Bruce Willis is officially confirmed to return to his role as Hartigan in Robert Rodriguez’s Sin City sequel. Check it out!
Willis joins the pretty extensive list of returnees which currently includes Jaime King as Wendy (Goldie’s sister), Jessica Alba as Nancy Callahan, Rosario Dawson as Gail and Mickey Rourke as Marv and also the replacements of Dennis Haysbert as Manute (replacing the late, great Michael Clarke Duncan), Josh Brolin replacing Clive Owen as Dwight and Jamie Chung replacing Devon Aoki as the deadly Miho.
Joining these returning stars will be Joseph Gordon-Levitt in the role of Johnny, a part in which was orginally linked to Johnny Depp during the years of speculation and rumour since the first movie.
As you will recall, Willis portrays Hartigan, the seemingly last good cop in a hell of a city, condemned to years imprisonment protecting a child from a paedophile who just so happens to be a senator’s son. At the end of the movie, Hartigan dies so you maybe forgiven in wondering just what role Willis is set to play.
Fans will already know that Sin City is a non-linear movie and contains many overlapping stories and Willis will appear in the Marv-centric story “Just Another Saturday Night”. This story tells what Marv was doing when Hartigan first meets up with Nancy in the bar for the first time since getting out of prison.
Whether Willis will star in any other parts or even new scenes comic book creator Frank Miller has written specifically for the movie is yet to be seen.
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For hits cinema’s October 4th.

Hello,
That is NOT a picture of Bruce Willis in Sin City, but Mickey Rourke as Marv.
You’re Welcome!
I was testing to see if you were paying attention.
This article got posted on reddit so you should get a volume of traffic coming through.
I loved the original Sin City. It took me a long time to get around to renting it, but when I did I was blown away by how interesting and well done it was.
Let’s hope that they can live up to the quality of the original one.
Thanks for writing the article.
IMDB lists Clive Owen as in the movie.
Thanks for reading it, John!
It also hasn’t listed Bruce Willis nor Josh Brolin yet.
I think due to the story and the name Dwight showing up, they just assumed Clive Owen.
I’ve also noted that during the period between this and the first, both Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie were listed as being in the movie but both aren’t and have been removed.
Sweet, I think I’ll enjoy Brolin better than Owen.
Josh Brolin will be playing Dwight before the facial reconstructive surgery and Clive Owen will be playing Dwight after the surgery.
Will Brolin be doing an English accent?
That’s not Bruce Willis .. it’s Hellboy .. right? Please say right…
I guess it’s the presentation of the film that made the Original Sin City a Classic. I am BIG Bruce willis Fan and its good to hear that he will reprise his role in the sequel.
Nope. Marv from the first Sin City movie. Mickey Rourke.
Spoilers.
Dwight gets facial reconstructive surgery, which is actually referenced in the first movie. So Brolin and Owen could both be Dwight technically.
Yeah, I guess you’re right.
However, I’ve heard official reports banded around the place that the others have returned. Nothing on Clive Owen yet. :-/
