Creator Confirms Talks of ‘Jericho’ Netflix Revival

jericho set for netflix revival

The ill-fated post-apocalyptic show, Jericho, may be on its way back to our screens.

Excellent, Stimpy, excellent…

Netflix Revival

Netflix are setting a little bit of a trend reviving TV shows. Okay, it’s most applauded venture into bringing a long ended show back to our screens was the cult classic Arrested Development, but I still applaud their choice of show.

It seems that next on the list is another cult favourite which was cancelled in its prime, rather ending with grace like Arrested Development. But that means nothing to loyal fans. Loyal sci-fi fans in general for that matter. After all, studio execs deemed it a good idea to cancel Firefly after just one season and that was one of the best TV shows ever to grace the airwaves.

I have to be honest. I would much prefer they bring back Firefly instead, but at this point I very much doubt that’s even option given the divergent and successful (for some) careers of those involved.

Regardless, Jericho is a show that would be on my wish list for revival. It was a real good look at a post-apocalyptic America after a devastation nuclear attack.

The show followed a small Kansas town as they dealt with the after effects of the bomb – struggling for food and atrocities of their fellow man, it painted a rather chilling look at what such a future would hold.

If you’re a sci-fi fan and you haven’t seen this show before, I would strongly suggest you do so.

Jericho Season 3

As for Netflix reviving the series, in an interview with Nerdacy, series creator Stephen Chbosky commented:

You know WME (William Morris Endeavor) Agency, who represents me, Jon Turteltaub and many other people, and they’ve been talking to Netflix and you never know. I can’t say what it will be in season 3, but I’m excited for the new developments.

When the issue was broached whether it could be based on the Jericho Season 3: Civil War graphic novel, Chbosky added:

Well, if you really, really want to know about season 3, the best thing would be to read the comics. That tells a better story.

High praise indeed. If you’re interested in reading what happened in Jericho Season 3, you can grab the Jericho Season 3 TP for just $11.10. I would also like to add that Jericho season 4 is also in the works, in paperback format and will hit the stores on 11th June this year. You can pre-order Jericho Season 4 right here for just $13.59.

What do you think?

Would you be eager to see Jericho season 3 revived? Was it a show you loved? What did you think of the graphic novels? Let me know in the comments below – it’d be awesome to hear your opinion!
