It’s Official: New Batman Arkham Franchise Game to be Released this Year

The announcement has been made and it’s official: there will be a brand new Batman Arkham franchise game this year.

Game of Games

For me, Batman Arkham Asylum and Batman Arkham City were the pinnacle of modern games. I am biased, I admit but I stand by my opinion. Maybe it’s because I’m a massive comic book geek. Maybe it’s because I rarely have the time to play video games any more these days, but there was always something so addictive about those games.

The stories behind them were superb. The action, graphics and strategy were stellar. The side games were fantastical – in fact some of the side games in Batman Arkham Asylum kept me playing the game every day until Batman Arkham City was released. I shit you not.

Coming from that angle, you can see why I’m majorly hyped about the game in this awesome series.

Did you know?

The announcement was made in Time Warner Management Q4 2012 Results press release which was put into a transcript by Yahoo Finance.

Well, announcement was a little over-hyping it. The new Batman game was briefly mentioned and there was no other detail than it would arrive this year. In fact, this is what was said exactly:

And we also have a strong games release this year, which will include the next release in the Batman Arkham franchise.

Still, I am hopeful they’re not blowing smoke up our asses.

What do you think?

Would you like to see a third movie in the Batman Arkham Franchise? If so, who would you like to see appear? Let me know what you think in the comments below – it’d be awesome to hear your opinion!
