The Avengers movie was the hottest movie in 2012, grossing more than any other movie and now geeks like me (and regular fans I guess) are eager for any information they can get on the sequel no matter how small a nugget of information that is.
Good news, I’ve got that small nugget of information. Wanna know what it is? Check it out!
This past weekend Joss Whedon was showcasing his latest movie Much Ado About Nothing at the Jameson International Film Festival. For those of you who haven’t heard about the movie, its a Shakespeare adaptation Whedon basically made whilst filming the Avengers.
By all accounts the new movie is fantastic and how could it not be? It contains a good number of actors from the Whedonverse including Amy Acker, Alexis Denisof, Nathan Fillion, Tom Lenk, Sean Maher and Clark Gregg who is obviously a new member of the family post Avengers.
Whilst showcasing the movie at the festival, obviously there was a geek in the crowd (we get everywhere you know) who asked about the Avengers sequel.
His response? “I can’t do any bigger, so I’m trying to do better,” which of course reaffirmed everything we know about the movie thus far – the Avengers Sequel will be a more intimate movie.
Then a second question was posed: What philosophy would the movie take? Joss replied,
“Death, Death and more Death!”
Here’s a clip of Whedon at the festival:
It’s difficult to tell that this point. Death, death and more death but it’ll be a more intimate movie? It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out? Also, how will Thanos play a role in this picture? I can’t wait to find out!
Let me know what you think about this in the comments below – it’ll be awesome to hear your opinion on the matter.
