The Amazing Spider-Man gets official plot synopsis

With production of Amazing Spider-Man 2 firmly under way, photos straight from the set are being leaked almost daily – today we have actress Shailene Woodley in a first look at Mary Jane Watson! Check it out!

You might be thinking: Mary Jane Watson? Seriously? I thought Peter Parker had Gwen Stacy as a love interest? And therein you’ve pretty much figured out the fate of Gwen Stacy in the Spider-Man sequel (or maybe the third movie).

I think the inclusion of Mary Jane is a pretty big indicator the movie will follow the comic books: Gwen Stacy will die and judging by how they’re pushing Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn, we might have our culprit. Might. After all, in the comic book Stacy is killed by The Green Goblin…

It’s all speculation at this juncture and I fully expect Marc Webb to throw us a couple of curve balls, whilst at the same time keeping us comic book geeks suitably pacified.

The new suit

As I mentioned previously, another major thing emanating from the set of Amazing Spider-Man was the new suit.

Does Woodley make a good a Mary Jane? I always thought of MJ as much more stunning. It’s the same reason I couldn’t buy Kirsten Dunst as MJ in the Sam Raimi movie. Am I overreacting?
