Joss Whedon Narrows Down Avengers 2 Filming Date to Feb 2014
Previously, I revealed that the Avengers sequel will begin filming in ‘early 2014′. Today, Joss Whedon has narrowed the start date down to February.
And that’s not all. Apparently, Whedon has had the plot for the Avengers in mind for quite some time.
“We should start shooting I think in February,” says Whedon. “I didn’t think I was gonna do the second one, but I had an idea for it before I had figured out the first one. You go into a movie not assuming that there’s going to be [another one]. I’ve seen plenty of movies that were the first part of the trilogy that never happened and it’s terrible.
“You don’t save anything for the trip back. Having said that, though, I did sort of know, ‘Well if they were to come back, I know what’s going to happen… it’s going to be awful.’”

Previously, I revealed that the Avengers sequel will begin filming in ‘early 2014′. Today, Joss Whedon has narrowed the start date down to February.
And that’s not all. Apparently, Whedon has had the plot for the Avengers in mind for quite some time.

That’s right – Michael Rooker has officially joined the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy!
Hot off the heels of The Walking Dead, it has today been confirmed that Michael Rooker has joined the rather impressive cast list of Marvel’s hot 2014 space romp The Guardians of the Galaxy!
Rooker will portray a character called Yondu – a game hunter from Centauri IV who in the comic books is a founding member of the original Guardians of the Galaxy.
So it looks like James Gunn will be mixing titles here – with the original team and the latest team. An interesting and bold move, which I’m not sure about. I’m still positive about it – I’m sure they’ll we’ve the character into the storyline in a credible way.
The Guardians of the Galaxy will be released on August 1st 2014.

That’s right – it seems not all movie theater’s are carrying tickets for Iron Man 3 yet!
According to Deadline news coming from CinemaCon is that some movie theater chains are refusing top sell tickets to the highly anticipated Iron Man 3 summer blockbuster due to a dispute with Disney.
Apparently, this is because “Disney decided to leverage the film in order to renegotiate the studio’s future terms with the chains”.
The report also suggests that AMC, one of America’s largest chains, is one of the number holding out against Disney’s underhand tactics.
All this, with just 17 days before the movie is scheduled to be released.
Surprise
Disney’s attempt at renegotiating terms comes as something as a surprise to some theater chains as they organisation hasn’t negotiated terms for several years – not even ahead of the summer 2012 mammoth that was The Avengers.
Perhaps now that Disney have bought LucasFilm too, they feel they have more negotiating power?
With ticket presales a very important part of a blockbuster’s opening weekend, I’m fairly sure Disney will want to have this little set back resolved quickly and with theaters relying on money generated from the movie’s showing, can they really hold out for too long?

It appears Science Fiction is in: Tom Cruise officially signs up with yet another science fiction movie!
Strong Market
The move comes after his latest sci-fi movie, Oblivion, earned a massive $61 million opening weekend in the foreign markets and it seems the science fiction movie is officially in.
Cruise next sci-fi project will be based upon a series of Japanese sci-fi novels and Anime by Chohei Kambayashi called Yukikaze. Warner Bros have picked up the rights and will finance and distribute.
For those wanting to know more about the series, here’s the plot:
Yukikaze occurs in the early 21st century. Thirty-three years before the events of the series, an alien force known as the JAM invaded Earth through a dimensional portal that appeared over Antarctica. Without alarming the general public, the United Nations establishes a defense force to oppose the threat and after a series of bloody battles, managed to push the enemy back to the other side of the portal. The UN establishes five bases on a planet named “Fairy” to continue the offensive against the JAM with the Fairy Air Force (FAF) leading the way. The main character, Lt Rei Fukai, pilots the Super Sylph B-503 fighter, nicknamed “Yukikaze”, an advanced armed tactical reconnaissance plane equipped with a near-sentient AI system, and belongs to the FAF’s recon squadron, the Boomerang Squadron. Over the course of the series, Fukai and the FAF struggles to defeat the JAM, who have perfected the art of human cloning and planted agents all over the FAF. – source: Wikipedia.

That’s right – massive Iron Man 3 spoilers right here! DO NOT read below if you don’t want to know spoilers!
The Iron Man 3 premiere hit Paris last night, and the boys over at the ever fantastical Latino Review posted this post-credit spoiler!
It starts with a close shot of Tony Stark on a couch talking about his various traumas, obviously he’s talking to someone, as if he was seeing a shrink, the tone of the scene is light and supposedly funny. Then we discover that the person he’s talking to is Bruce Banner/Mark Ruffalo, who fell asleep because of Tony’s boring story. Tony remarks that Banner has been sleeping during the most part of his story and yells at him, and Banner just mumbles and says “You know, I’m not that kind of doctor!” Then Tony recalls another memory and resumes his monologue, and then we see Banner starting to fall asleep again.
Awesome, right? And it makes sense. At the end of the Avengers Banner was seen leaving with Stark, so we can only assume Banner took up Stark on his job offer.
I cannot wait to see this movie.

Latest TV News
The show is a beast of its own. It topples previous ratings like they were mere numbers and refuses to rest upon its laurels.
It’s getting bigger. It’s getting stronger. It’s becoming indestructible.
And we fucking love it.
Sunday saw the third episode of the third season of Game of Thrones
Steady growth, no? No wonder HBO have already renewed the show for a fourth series and there’s no doubt in my mind that the show will continue as long as George R.R. Martin continues to write the books.
I find myself in a strange place. For so many years my favourite shows have been on the brink of series cancellation for much of their run, I have no idea how to handle a show like this which will definitely continue and, by the looks of it, continue to grow stronger.
I still I should picket HBO for a fifth season anyways – what harm can it do?

I love Hell on Wheels and back in October I was delighted to hear that it’d been renewed for a third season – now we have a date when this awesome show will return to our screens!

Not Much Hope
AMC have announced today that the third season of Hell on Wheels will movie from its Sunday night slot, to Saturday debuting on August 3rd of this year.
With the loss of the show creators and now this movie to Saturday night slot (which along with Friday night is effectively where TV shows go to die) how does this fare for the third season.
I can’t see there being a fourth season.
I think my interested waned the decline began in the second season, when the lead character Cullen Bohannon (portrayed by Anson Mount) turned away from his vengeance seeking to concentrate on building the railway and fighting injuns.
I love me a good revenge story, especially one set in the Wild West, and season one had pretty everything I look for in a TV show. I loved it. I loved the angle the writers attacked the story, I loved it all.
Take that away and my enthusiasm went along with it somehow.
But that doesn’t mean I’m going to give up on the show. I’ve invested in the characters, which were very well written and acted, it’s just not going to be my ‘go-to’ show over the summer any more.

That’s right – in order to preserve the story for Sherlock fans far and wide, show producer Sue Vertue pleas for silence on season 3 filming locations!
Season 3 of Sherlock is under way; production began a couple of weeks back and everything is reportedly going swimmingly. Us Sherlockians nearly have what we’ve been waiting for over a year to see: Sherlock Season 3 and precisely how Sherlock survived his fall at the end of season 2.
However, the lengthy wait has caused something of a fan frenzy, with eager Sherlockians posting numerous photo’s from location in Bristol and Cheltenham, leading to potential spoilers for the more eagle-eyed and clued-up fans out there.
This prompted Sue to post this note to the fans:
As many of you are aware, we’ll soon be embarking on our first London leg of filming for series 3. I’m also aware that there is quite a lot of speculation about where we’re shooting when. I can’t stress how much we the Producers and Benedict, Martin and the rest of the cast appreciate your love and dedication to our show – we’ll endeavour to live up to your expectations for Series 3.
What I am nervous about is that our London shooting schedule is punishing and will really give us very little time to interact with you. The actors really hope you understand that.
Also, and I know this is probably asking a lot, the majority of fans and indeed ourselves would REALLY appreciate it if you didn’t post pictures or spoilers or ideally our daily locations.

A Three Patch Problem

That’s right – we could be getting a Saul Goodman spin-off series! Can you say awesomeo!
Rumours are circulating that AMC and Breaking Bad producers Sony TV are considering giving the green light to a spin-off series based on the fan favourite character, Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk).
The idea is being formulated by Breaking Bad creator Vince Gillgan and series writer-producer Peter Gould, but nothing has been made official yet. Cool, huh?
Just what kind of show the potential series will be is also a consideration the creators must contend with. As well all know, Saul provides comic relief to the fairy serious show but I’m hope they’re not going with a flat out comedy; I hope they have Saul deal with all his other serious clients.
But I’m sure as hell not going to second guessing or questioning Vince Gillgan’s creativity; Breaking Bad has been one of the most addictive TV shows in the last 10 years or so (maybe longer) and I know whatever the hell he has cooked up will be awesome!

Los Pollos Hermanos
The first design, Los Pollos Hermanos, was created by colorhouse and makes reference to “Albuquerque’s Favorite fictional chicken joint”. It is of course the fictional fast food chain in which Season 4 antagonist Gus Fring operates his drugs trade from.
The design is great and makes use of the distressed print look that I personally like.

Saul
The next design is “Saul” by ShakDesign.
Saul Goodman is one of my favourite characters on the show and it just wouldn’t be a good list if there wasn’t at least one Saul-based design.
I like the design because it integrates the character, his business catchphrase “Better Call Saul” and the colour scheme of the show in one neat package. Excellent design.

Heisenberg and the Cartel of Death
The next design is the rather awesome “Heisenberg and the Carter of Death” by ninjaink.
This is the first mash up design in the list and combines two entirely awesome things the entertainment industry has to offer – Indiana Jones and Breaking Bad.
I think the concept of this design is very clever and I really like the color scheme the designer used. An excellent t-shirt that I might just have to add to my own collection…

I am the Danger
Next up, the “I Am the Danger” design by Tom Trager.
I love this design. It incorporates some of the greatest lines Walter White comes out with in season 5 of the show and is just totally awesome. The design concept, colors and the layout is perfect. This has to be in my top two designs from this list.

Next up is “Bad Men” by IG-HateyHate.
Another mash up t-shirt, beautifully combines the iconic Mad Men image, replacing Don Draper with Walter White, all within the Breaking Bad color and design scheme. Nice!

The second t-shirt on the list which references Walter White’s iconic line from the fifth season of the show, is brought to us by Stylo and is available in a variety of formats including iPhone cases and posters (as well as t-shirts/hoodies etc).
The design displays the line in the Breaking Bad style using the periodic table to highlight certain letters and is just plain cool.

Another favorite of mine, is this “Danger Walt” design from D4N13L.
Another mash up, though slightly obscure to some, of the cult UK cartoon Danger Mouse and of course Breaking Bad.
I like the design partly because of the cool cult reference and partly because it just plain works. Excellent t-shirt to own this one.

Enjoy Heisenberg Blue
The next design in the list goes by the name of “Enjoy Heisenberg Blue” by urhos.
This design incoporates the iconic Coca-Cola styled logo with the backbone of the Breaking Bad story – Walter White’s brand of meth. It works so well not only because it’s visually pleasing, but because of the underlying concept. Walter White intends for his Meth, “Blue”, to become the same kind of brand that Coca-Cola is. Clever stuff.

The next design is “Heisenberg: Pest Control” and comes from Landon Cassell.
This is a pretty cool design encapsulating a number of aspects from the fifth season of the show. I like this design because it looks cool and is basically a well conceived design concept.

Breaking Dead
The last t-shirt on the list is “Breaking Dead” by kgullholmen.
What’s not to like? It’s a mashup of my two favourite TV Shows – Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead and it’s totally cool. The work the designer has put into the zombie versions of Walter and Jesse is juist breathtaking. Awesome design.

Maybe better known to fans of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer universe as Charles Gunn, staring in Whedon’s Angel spin-off series, J August Richards will be taking a role in the new Marvel TV series.
With friends like these…
Of course, such as casting can be a surprise to nobody. It has been well documented in the past that once Joss Whedon likes an actor, he’ll always find them work. For example, once Firefly was unduly and very unjustly cancelled, Wheedon found roles for Nathan Fillion in the last season of Buffy and roles for Gina Torres, Summer Glau and Adam Baldwin. In his next TV series, Dollhouse, he cast Eliza Dushku and Amy Acker as regulars and Alan Tudyk as recurring character in the movie.
Whedon has also recently made Much Ado About Nothing, an adaptation of the classic William Shakespeare play, which stars pretty much all of his favourite cast members from his various different projects such as Nathan Fillion, Amy Acker, Alexis Denisof (who was also the voice of the alien in the Avengers movie) and Sean Maher. It also seems like Whedon has found a new actor to add to his impressive list of favourite cast members in Clark Gregg who has been used throughout the Marvel Movie Universe, as well as to star in the new S.H.I.E.L.D. TV show.
J August Richards
Now it seems Whedon has found a role for one former cast member he hasn’t reused in another project yet, in the form of J August Richards – better known as Gunn.
Whether Richards is playing a recurring role or whether he’s just cast in the pilot is as yet unknown as his part in the series is currently highly classified, but I hope it’s former. I’m ready to get J August Richards back in my TV watching life.
Name Change & Unofficial Synopsis
According to Entertainment Weekly, the show may also have a name change – from the standard S.H.I.E.L.D. to Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. which isn’t all that offensive. In fact, I think it’s pretty cool. Well, minus the Marvel bit, but you can’t have everything.

With ticket presales a very important part of a blockbuster’s opening weekend, I’m fairly sure Disney will want to have this little set back resolved quickly and with theaters relying on money generated from the movie’s showing, can they really hold out for too long?

That’s right – massive Iron Man 3 spoilers right here! DO NOT read below if you don’t want to know spoilers!
The Iron Man 3 premiere hit Paris last night, and the boys over at the ever fantastical Latino Review posted this post-credit spoiler!
It starts with a close shot of Tony Stark on a couch talking about his various traumas, obviously he’s talking to someone, as if he was seeing a shrink, the tone of the scene is light and supposedly funny. Then we discover that the person he’s talking to is Bruce Banner/Mark Ruffalo, who fell asleep because of Tony’s boring story. Tony remarks that Banner has been sleeping during the most part of his story and yells at him, and Banner just mumbles and says “You know, I’m not that kind of doctor!” Then Tony recalls another memory and resumes his monologue, and then we see Banner starting to fall asleep again.
Awesome, right? And it makes sense. At the end of the Avengers Banner was seen leaving with Stark, so we can only assume Banner took up Stark on his job offer.
I cannot wait to see this movie.

The Iron Man 3 UK premiere has been delayed! Why? The Iron Lady’s funeral.
Goddamn it!
What the hell are you talking about?
As most will know, a former British Prime Minster by the name of Margaret Thatcher, or to some “The Iron Lady” and to others name’s I couldn’t possibly publish at this time of day, passed away last week.
Her funeral is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 17th April and a barrage of ex-mp’s and celebrities have been invited to intend.
The 17th April was also set to be the premiere of the awesome-looking latest instalment of the Marvel Movie Universe: Iron Man 3.
Because of the clash of dates, the Iron Man 3 premiere will be pushed back to Thursday 18th April instead.
A Disney spokesperson advised “London will basically be in traffic chaos and it would have been difficult logistically to get everyone at the premiere.
However, it’s only the date that will change for this even and Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow are still set to walk down the red carpet on April 26th when Iron Man 3 officially opens in the UK.
